Driver Development Solutions can deliver HSE approved first aid courses in 4 different levels:
Appointed Person. This is an entry level uncertified 1-day course
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW). This is a nationally recognised and fully certified 1-day course that is valid for 3 years and requalification is simply to undergo the same course. It can be delivered in a variety of different formats - see the next paragraph for more details
First Aid at Work (FAW). This is a nationally recognised and fully certified 3-day course, which builds upon the EFAW course content and deals with a much wider range of potential first aid incidents. Requalification requires a refresher course
FAW refresher course. This is a 2-day course and is an HSE requirement to retain another 3 years First Aid at Work qualification.
Emergency First Aid at Work - Delivery Options
There are various options in which Driver Development Solutions can deliver this qualification, either as a:
Standard HSE approved course, which fully complies with all of the current HSE first aid guidelines
A nationally recognised OFQUAL Level 2 qualification, which is equivalent to 5 GCSEs or 1 A level
Both of which are recognised as fully complying with HSE’s requirements for any organisations First Aid provision under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Management of the Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Additionally, either of the EFAW options (above) can be attributed as a 7-hour module under the provision of Driver CPC. This would allow candidates to achieve 2 qualifications at the same time.
Why Should First Aid be so Important?
Not withstanding the obvious legal responsibilities placed upon an organisation, there are other important reasons
Trained first aiders can preserve life, prevent a condition from worsening and promote recovery of a casualty
Having employees trained in first aid can improve company image or kudos and help improve tendering opportunities
Driver Development Solutions can offer quality and cost effective solutions in first aid training, that can be tailored to your specific organisational requirements.
